“Every house is a home for someone!
Della Rieger was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and moved to the United States nearly 30 years ago. Her journey brought her to Canon City, Colorado, about 18 years ago, where she and her husband raised their three sons. Growing up on a farm and participating in a world champion drum corps, the Blue Devils, shaped Della’s discipline and work ethic from an early age.
After becoming a registered nurse, Della worked as an Intensive Care Unit nurse at a teaching hospital in Canada, where she met her husband. Their shared love of small-town life led them to settle first in McPherson, Kansas, and eventually in Canon City. While raising her family, Della spent five years as the school nurse at Canon Exploratory School. As her children grew older, she followed her passion for real estate, earning accolades like the 2019 Royal Gorge Association of Realtors ‘Rookie of the Year’ award.
Della is dedicated to helping others discover the beauty and charm of Canon City and Fremont County. She loves showcasing the area’s welcoming community, often going above and beyond to make her clients feel at home—even if they don’t end up purchasing a house. In her free time, Della enjoys traveling, skiing, biking, snowshoeing, playing tennis and pickleball, camping, sailing, and golfing with her husband and sons.
Della’s Dedication to the Community
Della Rieger is deeply committed to giving back to her community through leadership and service. She serves as President of the Zonta Club of the Royal Gorge, is a member of PEO Chapter DK in Canon City, and works as a Chamber Ambassador for the Canon City Chamber of Commerce. Her involvement extends further as the Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board and as a board member of Loaves and Fishes and CASA.
Della also plays an active role in the real estate community, serving on the Royal Gorge Association of Realtors Education Committee and the Public Relations Committee. Her dedication to service has been widely recognized. Among her honors are the Royal Gorge Association of Realtors ‘Community Service’ Awards in 2020 and 2023, the HomeSmart Double Diamond Award in 2020, the Triple Diamond Award in 2021, and the HomeSmart Top 250 President’s Club membership in 2022. In 2023, Della was presented with the Fremont Exceptional Women’s Cara Fisher Award for Community Service and named Member of the Month by the Chamber of Commerce in January 2024.
Della’s passion for her community and her tireless work reflect her unwavering commitment to making Canon City and Fremont County a better place for everyone.
